When Is Durian Season in Singapore: The Best Months for Durian Party

So someone in the company has FINALLY suggested a durian party for the next team get-together or client appreciation event.

Everyone thinks it's a fantastic idea.

Of course they do. They're not the ones organising it 😂

Now you're the lucky person figuring out when to hold it, what durians to serve, and whether the season will cooperate.

Don't worry, you've got Ms Durian on your side. We'll help you sort out the durian party details.

But first, let's talk about something pretty important: durian season in Singapore.

Because while you can have a durian party all year round, timing does make a difference if you're hoping for fresh durians and more varieties to choose from.

The main durian season in Singapore generally falls around June to September, when fresh durians are more readily available.

But if your plan is to wait until July before you even start enquiring...

We might need to have a little chat 😏

So Which Months Are Best for a Durian Party?

If you have the flexibility to choose your event date, June to September is generally your best bet.

That's when fresh durians are more readily available, and depending on the harvest, you might have quite the selection to spoil your guests with.

We're talking Mao Shan Wang, Black Thorn, Golden Phoenix, Red Prawn, D24... the list could go on.

Sounds like a durian lover's dream, right?

Don't worry, we stared at it for a while too 🤤

Well, before you go announcing to the whole office that there'll be Black Thorn at the party, hold that thought.

Because even during peak season, the varieties available depend on the harvest. And unfortunately, we can't guarantee that everyone's favourite durian will make an appearance on your chosen date.

So if your colleagues have already submitted their very specific durian requests (because of course they have 😂), let us know when you enquire.

We'll advise you on which durian varieties are most likely to be available around your event date and help you plan a spread worth getting excited about!

What About the Mini Durian Season?

Plot twist: June to September isn't your only chance.

There can also be a smaller durian season around the end of the year and beginning of the next, roughly around December to January.

That can be good news if you're planning a year-end celebration or an early-year company event and still want the chance to serve fresh durian.

Of course, the exact timing and durian availability can vary from year to year.

So before you start promising everyone Mao Shan Wang for Christmas, come ask us—the durian party specialists—what's looking good around your event date 😏

And if you're planning a year-end celebration, we've got some durian Christmas party ideas to make things a little more interesting!

Because who says Christmas parties have to be all turkey and log cakes? 🎄

Want a Peak-Season Durian Party? Don't Wait Too Long

Now THIS is the part we really want corporate planners to know.

If you already know you want to hold your durian party during the main season, enquire as early as you can.

We've had a client confirm their July durian party as early as April.

Well, does that mean everybody needs to book three months ahead? Nope.

Every event is different, and some companies prefer to plan further ahead than others.

But if you've already found a date when management is free, the team can make it and nobody important is on leave, you've already accomplished a small corporate miracle 😂

Now please don't let all that hard work go to waste by waiting until durian season is in full swing to enquire.

Send us an enquiry early for a better chance of securing your preferred date.

Once your booking is confirmed, we'll be your dedicated durian party planner, helping you sort out the details from start to finish wink 😉

So… When Should You Have Your Durian Party?

If you want the fresh durian experience with the possibility of enjoying different varieties, look towards the main durian season, generally around June to September.

If you're considering December to January, you might catch the smaller durian season, depending on the harvest.

And if your event falls outside both seasons, don't worry! You can still have a fun, off-season durian party at Ms Durian.

So tell us your preferred date, estimated guest count, budget and whether you'd like to hold the party at our venue or yours. We can advise you based on what's likely to be available and the kind of event you're planning.

Then all that's left is the most dangerous part:

Telling a room full of durian lovers that Mao Shan Wang is ready to rock their worlds 😎
